UPDATE TO BELOW: There will now be just the one game, and the venue is Good Shepherd School in Rathfarnham - KO at 2pm, and food and drinks in the Iveagh Grounds afterwards.
Saturday August 1st sees the visit of Malachians FC ( http://www.malachiansfc.com) from Belfast down to Dublin for two friendly games against the BCFC Sat & Sun sides.
Both games will take place in Walkinstown Park at 2pm, followed by food and a quiet drink or two in the Iveagh Grounds from around 4.30-5pm.
Malachians were established in 1963, and play in the Northern Amateur League, the largest football league in Northern Ireland (http://www.thenafl.co.uk/)
The connection was brought about as Malachians legend Jerome McAtee is brother of first team coach Paul McAtee. Jerome was the club's top scorer and player of the year last season, but at this point it is unclear whether or not he shares Paul's enthusiasm for questionably bright pink polo shirts and skinny jeans.
We look forward to the visit of our northern friends for what should be a great occasion.
